Twitter Announce First Twitter Fiction Festival

November 20, 2012

From November 28th 2012 for five days, social media network Twitter will play host to the first Twitter Fiction Festival.

The network, in which users must create posts of 140 characters or less, has already become home to a number of literary experiments by writers attempting to tell an entire story in a tweet, or stringing a narrative out across several tweets. Even Shakespeare is on Twitter, with his complete works being retold, line at a time, for all the Twitterverse to read. The Twitter Fiction Festival aims to go one step further. Established writers and creative storytellers around the world have been invited to contribute to the five day event and to challenge the boundaries of what can be done on Twitter.

The selected authors and festival agenda are due to be announced any day now, so keep an eye on the Twitter blog for further information.

The Twitter Fiction Festival will run from 28th November 2012 for five days. #twitterfiction
